For projects where a PE pipe is desired to withstand great strain from without in the form of, for example, external tearing, we have developed a special pipe. This is a PE pipe which has a protective mantle for the purposes of high pressure water, sewage, gas, industry etc. The material in the utility pipe is Polyethylene, PE80 or PE100. The external mantle is made of PP (polypropylene), which is highly resistant to external tearing and damage. The protective mantle thereby ensures the life span of the utility pipe.
The utility pipe will be black, or black with longitudinal coloured stripes, while the mantle will be given the colour code for the area of use:

The pipes can be delivered in coils in dimensions of up to 110 mm. Larger dimensions are delivered in straight lengths. The pipes are butt fused or sleeve fused in the normal way. The protective mantle must be removed before welding is undertaken. The pipes are particularly well suited for restoration work such as guided drilling, pipe cracking,ordinary pipe insertion etc. Also in situations involving poor filling material, and where pipelines can be subjected to mechanical influences etc., the protective mantle will provide the utility pipe with good protection.
